That’s a wrap #armedforcesday2023 – 15.7 miles covered in 6.20 hours. Fantastic company of employers, mentors, service leavers, #veterans, family, friends and a dog!
A wonderful off-road route through the stunning Dorset countryside, the sun was shining, the morale and banter was strong, conversation and laughs flowing, slight detour to avoid the bull in the field, live interview with BBC Radio Solent about our trek, and rounded off perfectly with an ice cold pint which got us through our last few miles!
Thank you Darren Duery for your excellent navigational skills and the extra 0.7 mile when we went a little ‘off -piste’ a number of times! Apologies all for ruling out the detour to the ice cream shop and thank you Neil Dalton OBE for the continuous ‘Dad’ jokes!
Biggest thanks to the Sheaf of Arrows for hosting us at short notice!
Each year our walks just get better and it’s down to the people who support, so thank you all who joined us this year and we look forward to you joining us again next year and growing the team.
But more importantly, thank you to the wonderful talent of our Armed Forces, you are at the heart of everything we do.
If you would like to show your support, it’s not too late to make a donation. https://lnkd.in/eVmNegA
