In north London, BuildForce is working with the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation to promote opportunities for service leavers and veterans in the construction industry. We will be helping the many contractors employed rebuilding Spurs’ White Hart Lane to identify employment and training opportunities. Some 3000 jobs are expected to be created over the next five years on the stadium and related developments.

Rather than move elsewhere in the borough of Haringey, the new stadium is largely being built on the current site. Construction started in 2016, and the finished stadium will have an estimated capacity of 61,000.

If you are a service leaver or veteran and would like to meet some of the firms involved with the project, an information and promotion event is being held in the existing stadium on Thursday 27 April, from 11am to 3.30pm. The day will include presentations from the Foundation and various employers, and a tour of the new stadium site. It may also include some special guest appearances from Spurs playing staff!

Please note: this is an invitation-only event and requires registration by 20 April to to secure your place.

The Employment and Skills team of the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation works with residents in north London and Hertfordshire to develop vocational skills, gain work experience and access local job opportunities. It has helped over 600 participants of all ages and backgrounds into employment. It offers apprenticeships, traineeships, vocational qualifications, and one-to-one employment support. The success of these programmes comes from working with a wide range of partners including including local authorities, grassroots community organisations, colleges, health advice and support providers, Jobcentre Plus and local businesses.
